About Folkestone holidays

Folkestone Holidays is Jo Phaure, with voluntary emotional support human, her mum, keeping her sane! I look after my property and my guests in central Folkestone. Whether people are visiting for work or pleasure I enjoy nothing more than working together to look after them.

Jo Phaure

I grew up in Whitstable, spent 8 years in Brixton and now call Folkestone home. I lived in Folkestone for eight years and have been hosting visitors to this lovely town since 2017. I love exploring and sharing all that the town has on offer and I’m certain there’s plenty more to discover.

In my previous life I was a charity communications professional, and moved to Folkestone thinking the high-speed line and under 1 hour London commute would make for a great work life balance. But once I got to Folkestone I found my love for London waning. Being by the sea needed to become my full-time job! And so Folkestone Holidays was born. Me and my mum have two lovingly furnished spaces for anyone wishing to enjoy all the town has to offer whether that’s entertainment or it’s absolutely beautiful environment. We’ve everything from rolling hills to deserted coves.

I love hosting people, helping make their trips special and recommending things to do in the local area. Here you can read many of my recommendations and ideas, in paticular some great walks, places to eat and drink and of course our places to stay.

I hope you enjoy. I would welcome suggestions and guest posts.

Lynda

Lynda, my mum, just offers me support when the business side of things get tough, but I wouldn’t have survived this long without her advice and support. She’s not an employee or a Director, but she is vital to my ability to deliver to my guests. My mum is a retired foster carer, so has a long history of helping people. Lynda provides much of the common sense required to support me to run a small business and the cushions. She’s obsessed with cushions at home you can’t sit down for all the cushions!

Both Lynda and Jo are big fans of travelling, food, wine and all the nice things in life and very much enjoy sharing their knowledge with visitors to Folkestone.

  1. Joanne looked after us wonderfully whilst our chaps rented her property whilst carrying out emergency works in the area during the Covid-19 lockdown period. The property was spotlessly clean and Jo always went above and beyond to make sure the chaps were comfortable and well looked after.

Obviously with it being lockdown for most of the time we were working in the area the guys weren’t able to venture out and sample the delights of Folkstone, however they did all agree when lockdown is over it would be nice to return and have time to enjoy the beautiful seaside town in it’s fully glory.

Excellent communication from Jo, emails were always answered very quickly and Jo was always one step ahead making sure she’d accounted for our parking needs as well as our accommodation needs.

Highly recommended, thank you very much. Julie – Constructex Ltd
